Although the Friends of Little
River Lighthouse was only recently official formed as a chapter of the
American Lighthouse Foundation, its agreement with the nonprofit American
Lighthouse Foundation states that the group must hold an election of
officers every November.
In compliance with that agreement,
nominations, which were open to anyone and were highly publicized in all the
local area newspapers and television, were called for.
At the well attended November 12th
meeting, held in Cutler, Maine, the following people were elected as the
second set of officers for the Friends of Little River Lighthouse; Timothy
Harrison and Hal Biering were elected as Co-Chairmen, Dave Corbett and
Marilyn Murdock were elected as vice chairs, Karen Staake as Treasurer, and
Judi Corbett and Kathleen Finnegan as Co-Secretary. Also elected as
Officers-At-Large were Cynthia Rowden, Irene Fitzgerald and Ruth Farris.
Anyone interested in joining the
group can do so, by contacting them by mail at; Friends of Little River
Lighthouse, a chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation, P.O. Box 671,
East Machias, ME, 04630 or by calling 207-259-3833 or any of the officers of
the organization.
