Another Potluck Success for

Little River Light

 

 
 

The Friends of Little River Lighthouse held their second potluck supper this year to raise money for the ongoing restoration of the lighthouse.

 

The event, which was held October 10 in the basement of the Cutler United Methodist Church in Cutler, drew a large crowd and with more people than ever before donating food dishes for

the supper. In fact there was so much food donated that plates were made up and delivered to some local shut-ins who were unable to attend.

 

Marilyn Murdock, vice president of Friends of Little River Lighthouse, donated the autumn festival decorations for the tables, which included

the last keeper of the U S. Lighthouse

 Service to serve at Little River Lighthouse,

was on hand for the potluck supper to

share memories of life on the island as

well as enjoy the good food

tablecloths, cups, pumpkins, and flowers and along with the help of Jean Bergeron set the room up for the event.

 

After dinner the audience had the opportunity to purchase Little River Lighthouse gift items, participate in a raffle and hear live entertainment by former Little River Lighthouse keeper Terry Rowden, along with Pam Cates playing the pans and Ruth Farris  with some amazing piano playing.

 
 

 

The winner of the potluck dinner door prize was life-long Cutler resident Jasper Cates who received a Harbour Lights replica of Little River Lighthouse.

 

The next fundraiser event for the Friends of Little River Lighthouse will be a Pancake Breakfast to be held on November 10 at 7am in the basement of the Cutler United Methodist Church in Cutler.
