The area is known for fog and if the fog is too thick, the boat may have to
wait at each end for the fog to lift for departure.
Since the landing ramp at the lighthouse was destroyed in a spring storm,
landing and access to the island can be difficult and one will need to walk
over slippery and dangerous rocks. Proper dress and shoes are a must!
Although there are flush toilets on the island, the water is not drinkable.
You will need to bring your own lunch and soft drink or juice. Please pack
as light as possible, because whatever you bring to the island you will need
to carry over the rocks and vice versa..
Summer projects include . .
- Rebuild the landing ramp
- Build a picnic pavilion
- Lawn mowing
- Painting
- Removing large stones and boulders from lawn area
- Window washing
- Tree trimming
- Debris removal
