Point Lighthouse, a chapter of the organization, contributed $500 to another
ALF beacon in need.
At the same time that the Friends of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (FPPL) are
facing the need to fund an important $100,000 restoration project for their
light tower, the chapter remains cognizant of other ALF preservation efforts
that are in dire need of support as well. The FPPL’s commitment to the
mission of the organization speaks volumes about the kind of quality and
dedicated individuals that comprise the American Lighthouse Foundation.
Friends of Pemaquid Point Light members John and Jan Faulstich were on hand
during the American Lighthouse Foundation’s June 17, 2006 benefit dinner in
Rockland, Maine, to present the chapter’s $500 gift to the organization for
Little River Light Station’s plumbing project. As he made the check
presentation to ALF officers Sylvia Paneris and Kathleen Finnegan, Mr.
Faulstich emphasized to the audience what the FPPL’s donation represented,
noting the chapter’s “gratitude to ALF for launching FPPL and our commitment
to work with others to preserve ALF lighthouses wherever they may be.”
Thanks to this team commitment to saving lighthouses exhibited by the
Friends of Pemaquid Point Light, the mission and success of the American
Lighthouse Foundation is made that much stronger and effective.
