Flying Santa Visits

 Pemaquid Point Lighthouse

 

 
 

On Saturday, December 9, the Flying Santa arrived at Pemaquid Point in Maine.  It is a long-standing tradition for Santa to fly over the coastal lighthouses of Maine and deliver gifts to the lighthouse families.  This year we had one of the largest turnouts ever from the families and neighbors of Pemaquid Park.  Santa now lands in a helicopter and delivers gifts and candy to the children thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Flying Santa, who work to keep the tradition burning bright.

commemorate the event.  The snow that we had received the day before made the scene even more seasonal. The Town of Bristol did a wonderful job of maintaining the safety of all who attended, and the sun even managed to break through just before Santa arrived.  His parting words were "Merry Christmas to all!"
