Dennis Tardiff discovered our FPRL web page
and learned to his delight of the recent attempts to restore the Pomham
Rocks Lighthouse property. Email between Dennis and myself has occurred
since his introductory message.
According to Dennis, Pomham Rocks Light
Station was the first duty station of his Coast Guard career - Dennis
retired from the Coast Guard in 1995 with twenty five years service and now
works for a large private sector firm (Pfizer) in Groton, Connecticut.
Dennis resides in South County, Rhode Island
with his wife, Shirley. Shirley (Almeida) lived in East Providence with her
family when she met Dennis while he was assigned to the Pomham Light
Station. Dennis is a native of Bath, Maine.
We had tried to locate Dennis several years
ago with no luck - luck prevailed, however, Dennis found us and we are all
the richer.
We look forward to our first personal
meeting. Dennis is a vital link to learning more Pomham Rocks Lighthouse
history - he is as the saying goes, a walking lighthouse history book.
