On October 6, 2007, the Friends of Pomham
Rocks Lighthouse performed maintenance work on the island to further
enhance the beauty of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse.
Chapter volunteers (David Kelleher, Rob
Charbonneau & Marcus Paiva) painted the concrete retaining wall white,

Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse chairperson Don Doucette comments on the
maintenance work, "Volunteers cleared the wall of

vegetation, which took a good deal of
time. This effort to clear the retaining wall actually started back in
2006."
Doucette went on to say, "The chain link
fence will be painted and touched up during the flow of time. While
realizing its condition is poor and that it really needs to be replaced
in the not too distant future, the plan |

is to at least keep it touched-up and looking as good as possible for the
time being. Any improvement is far better than its present condition. We
have already received a "thumbs up" from an out sailing neighbor from the
nearby Stonegate Apartments."
