couple of well-deserved rounds of applause from other visitors. As always,
I'm grateful to our volunteers, who on this occasion were Sharon Mills, Ross
Tracy, Joanne Yeaton, Alyson De Leeuw, Nancy De Leeuw, William Marshall, and
Paul Conlin. Our visitors were incredibly patient; some waited as long as
two hours. Quite a few times during the day I heard the comment, "It was
definitely worth it!" For many of the people, it was their first visit
inside a lighthouse, and I hope they went away with a new appreciation for
the historical importance of lighthouses and their keepers. It was a long
day, but like our visitors, I feel it was definitely worth all the effort.
