Description:
|
Light-gray, conical, granite tower that |
|
exhibits a flashing (2 flashes…one at 1 second
intervals and the other at 3 second intervals) white light every 6
seconds from a focal plane of 77 feet above the water and visible 8
nautical miles. The lighthouse is equipped with a foghorn, which
sounds one blast every 10 seconds. Reference: 2005 U.S. Coast Guard

operation on August 28, 1905…The light was |

electrified in 1958 by means of an underwater cable
extending from Portland Head…In January 2001 the light was converted to
solar power.
