Dear Friends,
Thank you for inviting
me to attend the American Lighthouse Foundation’s Museum of Lighthouse
History Grand Opening Ceremony. I truly regret missing the opportunity to
share in this exciting event, but unavoidable circumstances prevent me from
joining you. Please know where I cannot be there to celebrate with you in
person; I will be there in spirit.
The Museum of
Lighthouse History gives visitors the opportunity to step back in time and
experience the magnificence of America’s rich lighthouse heritage through
the array of artifacts, such as photographs and equipment that the
lighthouse keepers used to send out the light. Your commitment to educating
the public about such an important part of Maine’s history helps us to
understand and appreciate the value of saving these great American beacons
of light, as well as preserving them for our future generations to
understand the history of the seacoast.
Thank you for your
dedication to Maine’s past and to its heritage. The Museum of Lighthouse
History does not just benefit Wells and the surrounding communities, but
enriches Maine as a whole.
I wish you all the
best on this important occasion and for a successful future.
Sincerely,
John E. Baldacci
Governor
