Great News!
Matching grant raises nearly $24,000 for ALF!
As many of
you know, an individual private benefactor inspired by ALF's 2005 Annual
Campaign efforts pledged to match 25% of all donations made to the American
Lighthouse Foundation between Dec. 21 and Dec. 31, provided those donations
totaled a minimum of $20,000 by midnight
Dec. 31, 2005. Encouraged by the progress ALF made during
this time despite falling short of the ten-day goal, the private
benefactor graciously extended to January 31st, 2006.
We came so
close to reaching our goal by January 31st that the anonymous
benefactor felt ALF was close enough and therefore donated the full $5,000
toward the Annual Campaign. We wish to thank our benefactor and all of ALF's
members and friends who donated to the matching grant opportunity! The
matching grant could not have come at a better time for our organization,
but please remember that the importance of fund raising continues to be an
ongoing need and major source of support for our lighthouses and their
preservation.
