The West Quoddy Head
Lighthouse Visitor Center’s
Annual Celebration on July 7 is
dedicated to the memory of Ken Black. As part of the day's events, there
will be a special U.S. Postal Service postmark bearing an image of "Mr.
Lighthouse."
To obtain the
Ken Black special postmark, send a
stamped-self-addressed envelope to Postmaster, Lubec, ME 04652 with a note
requesting the July 7th West Quoddy Head Lighthouse Ken Black postmark.
The West Quoddy Head Light
Keepers Association offers a standard 6-3/4 inch envelope bearing an
artist’s drawing of Ken Black especially for the special cancellation. To
obtain this, send $1.00 for each envelope desired and a self-addressed
stamped business-size envelope for return to Ken Black Envelopes, PO
Box 378, Lubec ME 04652. Do this quickly so you can mail your cachet
envelope(s) to the Lubec Postmaster in time for the cancellation.
